Pilgrimages
Up one levelShalem's pilgrimages offer an opportunity to step outside of one's daily routine and journey to sacred sites and shrines in the United States and other countries. In the company of other sacred-seeking companions, pilgrims are invited to draw closer to God through guided meditations and prayer as well as through the history, stories, people and land of each destination. Special attention is given to the formation of the pilgrim community, service possibilities in the areas visited, and reflection on pilgrimage as a source of renewal and vitality both for participants and their at-home communities.

Pilgrimage to Ghost Ranch, New Mexico
- The Pilgrim's Way: Desert Simplicity; Monday, March 31 - Monday, April 7, 2008, Ghost Ranch, Abiquiu, New Mexico. On this journey, we will draw from the spiritual resources of natural beauty, the simplicity of the desert, and the wisdom of desert peoples, both ancient and modern, to show us something more of God's purpose and design for our own lives and for the world in which we live.
