On Living Each Day Prayerfully
A Contemplative Presence Workshop
Saturday, December 1, 2007, 10am-4pm
We cannot attain the presence of God. We're already totally in the presence of God. What's absent is awareness. (Richard Rohr)
Prayer is... a stance. It's a way of living in the Presence... the full contemplative is not just aware of the Presence, but trusts, allows, and delights in it. (Richard Rohr)
Do you desire to nurture this prayerful stance in your daily life? Are you looking for inspiration, encouragement and a prayerful community to explore this awareness and presence to God in all of life?
This workshop will provide an opportunity to notice and nurture living in the Presence, and to deepen our trust in and availability for that Presence. Through a variety of prayer practices, silence, reflection and sharing, we will seek to grow in our understanding and appreciation of contemplative living and how that overflows in love and service. All are invited, whether new to this theme or wanting to deepen and nurture this prayerful presence in a spiritual community.
For those interested in Shalem's Personal Spiritual Deepening Program, a special introduction will be given at the end of the day.
