Supporting Contemplative Living and Leadership

Shalem offers a variety of short programs to support contemplative living and leadership in the Mid-Atlantic Region, such as Quiet Days, Workshops, Contemplative Prayer Groups, Retreats, Special Lecture Series and Introductory Events.  Shalem has been providing various forms of ecumenical spiritual formation experiences for enriching ministries and for personal spiritual deepening for over 30 years. All programs:

  • Encourage the personal spiritual practices to which individuals are called
  • Offer resources for listening and responding authentically to God
  • Share a contemplative orientation—an open willingness to be present to God in the moment.

Shalem also offers Regional Gatherings in various locations around the country, and has for years offered pilgrimages across the world.

The 2010 Program Year

Shalem's 2010 program year offers a rich array of short-term opportunities to renew and deepen your spiritual life, to foster awareness of God in the present moment and to share in mutual spiritual community.  Our one-day events allow you to experience God's Presence in the midst of a busy life, while our retreats and groups offer a more sustained experience of living in the Presence.

The 2010 program year's offerings all give a taste of the contemplative way and support for daily living in God.

To explore these events, we invite you to refer to the categories on the left bar.
