(Some of the primary staff persons will be present for all or part of both residencies. Other faculty will offer seminars on special themes and will be present for only their presentation. Additional staff persons may be chosen, depending on the needs of the program.)
- Carole A. Crumley
- Carole Crumley, Shalem’s Senior Program Director, is an Episcopal priest and Director of Shalem's Clergy Spiritual Life and Leadership: Going Deeper Program. She is a widely respected leader of ecumenical retreats, groups, and conferences, and a seasoned pilgrimage guide to sacred sites throughout Europe and the Middle East.
- Ann Dean
- Ann Dean is Director of Shalem’s Leading Contemplative Prayer Groups & Retreats Program. She retired from pastoring an ecumenical faith community in the Church of the Saviour in 2004 and is a member of the Dayspring Retreat Mission Group, which sponsors multi-faith retreat days throughout the year. She is a co-founder of the Shalom Innernet Group, which has fostered peacemaking through multi-faith contemplative prayer groups since 1999.
- Tilden H. Edwards, PhD.
- Tilden H. Edwards, Jr. is Shalem’s Founder and Senior Fellow, an Episcopal priest, author or editor of seven books on the spiritual life (including one on group spiritual formation), and leader of introductory and continuing spiritual formation/exploration groups at Shalem for 25 years.
- Sid Fowler
- Sid Fowler is interim pastor of Hope United Church of Christ, Alexandria, VA, a spiritual director, and editorial director for Out In Scripture, an on-line lectionary resource from the Human Rights Campaign (HRC). Sid served on the national staff of both the United Methodist Church and United Church of Christ (UCC). With the UCC for 14 years, he was minister for worship, liturgy, and spiritual formation and of curriculum resource development.
- Patience Robbins
- Patience Robbins is a Roman Catholic laywoman who joined Shalem's adjunct staff in 1997. She serves on the staff of Shalem's Clergy Spiritual Life and Leadership Program and Leading Contemplative Prayer Groups & Retreats Program and has been participating and working with group spiritual direction since 1997.
- Liz Ward
- Liz Ward is an Episcopal layperson and a graduate of Shalem’s Spiritual Guidance Program. She is an experienced spiritual guide and retreat leader and has assisted several local churches desiring corporate discernment.
