     Program Highlights

With Hearts Wide Open: A Seminar on Contemplative Leadership

Do you yearn to explore a way of leading that is more aligned with your heart?
Are you seeking community and support for this heart-led way?

With hearts wide open, we can begin to see how to lead in a way that is congruent with the invitation of our spiritual heart.  And doing this can dramatically change how we lead in the workplace, shifting us from a controlling power to the power of love and compassion.

Through content videos and audio, Leah Rampy will help explore compassion and power as dimensions of contemplative leadership and will offer a space for reflection, contemplative practice and sharing with other leaders. The seminar will also include practical resources, time for individual journaling and silent prayer.

Dates: The workshop can be taken any of five days between April 30 to May 14, 2015.
There will be a live conference call on Tuesday, May 12, at noon EDT

Gerald May Seminar with James Finley

Friday Night, April 24, 7 to 9 pm

Finley will explore Thomas Merton's spiritual teachings by drawing on his own experience of having Merton as his spiritual director in his Friday night lecture: Turning to Thomas Merton As Our Guide in Contemplative Living.

Join us via LiveStream from where ever you are.  Registration for LiveStream will close at noon on Friday April 24.  After that time, you may purchase the LiveStream Recording.  The week after the event, you will be sent an email with access to the recording for 90 days after the event.

Join us in person.

Saturday, April 25, 10 am to 4 pm

In the midst of a traumatized world, we cannot turn our backs on suffering.  On Saturday, Finley will explore with us how, being grounded in God's Presence, we become more tender-hearted and insightful as we seek healing for ourselves and others.

Join us in person on Saturday.

Shalem Institute for Spiritual Formation nurtures contemplative living and leadership by caring for the spiritual heart in prayer and by offering ways of opening into the life of the Spirit.  We believe that living contemplatively is essential in today's often chaotic and challenging world.   And it is a way to live a truly authentic life—anchored in prayer, spiritually discerning, responsive to God.

Our programs and resources draw particularly on the Christian contemplative tradition, and our participants come from many different denominations, faith traditions, and walks of life.
At Shalem, we honor each individual spiritual path and welcome anyone who would seek to learn from the contemplative way.
